    Hi,

Have tried twice now to backup some mp3's to a DVD-R... I have done plenty before without problem, but this one just doewsn't want to work.

I have attached the log for it, which should contain all the details needed. I looked, but couldn't see where exactly it failed to see what the problem might be, so does anyone know?

Using Nero 7.0.0.0 (going to update now), with latest firmware for my HP recorder.

    Thanks

hi, i've removed your serial number..

    - 7.0.1.4b is here - http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-up.php

    - firmware's up to date - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2034

    - DMA needs to be ON, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - try to close down more programs prior to ALL dvd work/burning to free up more memory

    - 4482MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. try to burn further away from the outer edge, ie try 4300MB or, which doesn't sacrifice much space. The dye can be less even at outer edge of discs, especially with lesser quality discs

    - not very good quality discs

    - see previous comment

    - try 4x, but buy better discs in future

Right, finally got the new nero running,
    DMA is on (was already),
Rebooted especially to burn - So no other programs runnning,
    Removed about 200mb,
Still using same discs (Datawrite Titanium), as I have no others,

    So far, 4 coasters.

It does say Read Error, but I don't see why, and certainly don't know where....

DMA needs to be ON for that Ricoh drive otherwise all devices will be dragged down to PIO mode

It had been switched on for all devices (this wouldn't affect my HD's would it?)
