External HD isn't acknoweledged by Powerbook?

    I have quite a problem. I have an external HD that I used to back up all my music from my PC. I now want to transfer this music from the external HD to my Mac Powerbook. Is this possible? My Powerbook isn't even finding the external HD.

    if the external drive is using the NTFS file system then the mac wont read it

    How can I find out if it's using this system?

    plug it into your pc. when it shows up in my computer right click it and go to properties it will tell you what file system it is using there
