Anybody with an ipod video, how much battery life do you get after you fully charge it? i can watch 40 minutes of video, and listen to about 10-20 (about 4 minutes each) songs before the battery indicator gets really low. that adds to about 1.5 hours. does anyone think i should contact apple, or is this normal?

Hmmm, it's not great, but I don't think contacting apple is the answer just yet. Do you have the volume up on the maximum?

I find that when the battery life goes red and nearly dead, a few seconds later it goes back up half way into teh greens again. I've noticed this on other ipods too.

Lethal- I keep the volume up about 1 third of the way up.
i found out your ipod can play for 14 hours if you listen 2 music, and 2 hours if you watch videos.

Op3th- You are right. that happenes 2 me, too. My battary is still faily bad though.

i am trying 2 keep track of how much i listen to. i think the battery is doing better (4 some strange reason).

If you turn the backlight off it lasts a very long time with the music, i know you can't do that with the movies and stuff though but the back light tears up the battery life.

I have the 30 GB and normally, with volume 1/3ish up and with backlight for 20 seconds, it only takes about 2 songs for the tip of the battery-life icon to disappear.

I have now changed the backlight to 5 secs to see if it truly makes a difference ;)

Yeah. Don't worry about it. Its not just yours. WHen you watch movies, or even just having the backlight on, it drains the battery. But once the backlight/movie is off, the meter goes up a bit.
