Hi, I bought a Cyberhome DVR 1200. I have one of the older TV's. I bought the RF Modular as it suggested. I appears that I hooked it up correctly because I can watch movies, but they are not clear. When I went to set up my TV Channels, the DVD Recorder says that I don't have a TV signal. I don't have cable, but I am using very good set of rabit ears. Please Help!!!!
i had the same problem with my dvr like yours. you should try moveing the antenna around the room and find a good spot for it. if that dont work try getting a 2 way splitter and a small cable just long enough to go from the splitter to the dvr.then get an antenna. it dosent matter if it is cheap or not and then hook that up and try finding a good spot for that. if that dont work try the old tin foil trick on the antennas. it works best if you branch them out a little. this worked for mine. this type of dvr is a little picky about the signal quality.
I dont't think you need a modulator in this case The 1200 has a RF input and output that should produce a picture tor the TV and DVD. A splitter or extra modulator might reduce the siginal strength. Try the tuner in the 1200 If turned off the unit will default to DVD. The source botton on the remote needs to be pressed until the source is TV. I you insert and watch a DVD the unit will revert to DVD as a source and you must select the TV again, Press enter after you make a selection. Look at page 6 and 17 in the manual. The instructions are not very good.
I was having the same problem until i run the tv tuner setup function: press setup, select general and then tv signal. Here you can select between antena and cable and even can try the auto channel scan option. I hope this could be usefull to you. Thank you. Regards.
