That is a pretty good deal. Every once in a while, Best Buy will run a $14.99 sale for the 50 packs of Verbatim media, so getting a 100 pack for $30.99 is pretty good.

Ok thanks i will pick some up then.

One more question all these sites i see that sell verbatim. Are they the good quality? Or is it better to just go to my local bestbuy or comp usa?

It doesn't matter where you get them. They'll be of the same good quality. Verbatim single layer media is made in Taiwan, while Verbatim dual layer media is made in Singapore. Verbatim is very good media and is one of the most recommended brands here at AD. Very wise choice, Brecken.

Sony is really good media, so I'm surprised your getting coasters. How fast are you burning? If you're burning faster than 4x, I would slow it down. 4x is a good speed to burn at. I always burn at 4x and very rarely get coasters.

So sony and verbatim are the same? I have been burning at 4x. They are 8x dvd-r's. Do you think i need to lower it to 2x burn? Or is that to low?

Yeah, Sony is good media just like Verbatim is. I don't think you should lower your burn speed. Maybe your drive's firmware needs updated. What is the brand and model of your burner? I might be able to tell you what the latest firmware is.

I have a NEC 3550a and I updated my firmware without an issue. Made the drive work better and more versatile.
