I have just purchased a 708UF external plextor. I have Nero, and yes I have changed the settings to show that I want to use that drive & not the HP drive. Is there anything else I can tweak in Nero 6.6 to make it let the Plextor burn and not the HP? I know the drive burns, I did a self test. Its Nero thats not working. It burns perfect with anything else. appreciate inout.
What version of nero 6.6 maybe it just dont see the burner. Make sure you are runing the newest nero 6.6 build.
hi. Oh it sees it. I even went into "recorder" and made sure it was on the Plextor and not the HP drive. Theres something I'm missing, its probaly something small & minute, but it won't let me burn. and I did a self test so I lnow this plextor burns, just not with the nero.
Do you have firmware version 1.11 on it? Is it hooked to usb2 instead of usb1.1? Or is it hooked to 1394? Here is there site to look into some of its software and firmware updates. http://www.plextor.com/english/products/708UF.html

Its hooked up to the USB2, actually theres a big long story behind this Plextor, and its being exhanged tomorrow for the exact same model BUT with everything in the box...it came without 80% of the estras(cables, manual etc) so as of tomorrow I am going to hook it up with the firewire chord, because I'll have one and I will positively do the firmware update...should I do all of the ones before that?or just the latest? I hope that helps. I really don't thnik its the plextor because the self test proved perfect, its Nero & plextor that are giving me grief. I bought this drive so I could use Clone2, because my primary HP640 drive will not work with clone2, so here I go again. LOL!
