This is my problem: I bought a DVD burner about a week ago NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A, I burned about 7 dvds,great quality, with Nero Express, and then I had about 6 burning errors. I spent about 30 hours in two days, reading forum after forum, trying to figure out the way to do it right9 I am totally new at this, I try to learn from practice).I checked and installed the ASPi files,I went at 3 AM at Walmart and bought some quality media - as I read in this forum, I bought Maxell DVD+R High Grade, Made in Japan.Previously I used some cheap Imation DVD-r. I copied one dvd, v. good quality(Maxell)-I used DVDDecrypt+Shrink+Nero Burning Rom.Then I tried to burn a DVD with NBRom, using a Video_TS that I had previously converted from avi using WiNAVI. I get this error that says Power calibration error. I Thought maybe my power supply was not good enough. I unplugged everythin I could, I restarted the computer, tried again--Now I get this no seek complete error?!? I attach one of the log files. can anyone help me please? I am tottaly out of hope. Is it Nero? Is it my system? My DVD burner? I get all these errors in the log file, but I am clueless. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you. For whatever reason it doesnt seem to like your media. Update nero to 7.0.14b might help. Your firmware is newest for the drive I think. Also your system aspi is old I dont think its your problem but never know.

That most of the time means it can not calibrate the write head in the burner for the media. You may be stuck waiting on a firmware update for the burner to use that media. If so just get some older media it does like for the meantime. I would get the update though for nero. It has many bugs worked out (not all mind you) that 7.0 had.
Thanks a lot. Now, what media should I try? What do you mean by old, manufacturing date, ot type(DVD-R instead of DVD+R)?
One more question.Do you think a different burning software would work better, like imgburn, interdvd copy or something like that(I don't need all the fancy features that come with Nero( I have a craked version honestly, !, i guess cannot upgrade?!) Thank you.
Not realy got to be old mfg date just needs to be compatible with the burner. I think videohelp has a media compatiblity list. Or just get whatever you where using before if any.
Ahhh that could be the problem. I dont think it is but never know. Try dvdshrink and dvddecrypter for doing dvd backups they are free. Imgburn is good and free as well but to use it you will need to use shrink or whatever to make iso of the dvd you want to backup
