I have a video file that's an MP4 but I would like to recode it to a more friendly file type. I downloaded a trial version of Nero 7 Premium and can get the video to play but can't seem to figure out how to reencode it to a more usable file type (i.e. - XviD, mpeg, avi). Any suggestions?

Use nero vision like your going to make a dvd. It will import the video and when you get it imported save the project. It will then be mpg in your default folder for imported files with vision. Mine save in C:\Documents and Settings\Mine\My Documents\NeroVision\ImportedVideo under a folder named the date of the project saved.

I tried it like you said but all I got was an mpeg with sound but no picture. Is this because I only have a demo version? I even tried to re-encode it as a VCD and got the same result. Everything looks fine when I preview it while creating but, the final product is audio only. And it's almost a 9GB file!!!

Do you need the complete version of Nero 7 to re-encode MP4? The trial version only seems able to play the file but will not encode for some reason.
