DVD playable , anyone try this?

I have been wondering if this process would work. I know you can put music "wav format and mp3 format" on cds and have them played on players that can read them. I was wondering if the same process can be done on dvd and be played on car audio systems. Meaning load up a dvd with something like 500 or more mp3' s and play it on a dvd audio player in your car.

Is it possible, does it work, has anyone tried it?

Any input would be great.

Innovatech, Sony, Blaukpunk ... all have several DVD Players for cars that will take MP3/Mp4 -- My car has one it came with it.
