Help!!! I have been trying to use dvd decrypter to copy, and unfortunately it loads ok, but when I go to make an iso, it just hangs there. The time is still ticking, but there is no progress. I left it there for about 2 hours hoping that it would work, but nothing happened, and the worst part it doesn't shut down. It just acknowledges it and doesn't do anything even after a an hour. I have loaded aspi for winxp32, and am using a toshipa cd/dvdw, sd-r5372. Also Nero gives the same problem when going to burn it just hangs. This occurs only when burning DVD's I have tried using Alchohol 120% but the disks made are unusable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

well right now I am trying to burn a ps2 game to make a playable backup. My ps2 is modded, but in alcohol I can make an iso, but the burned copy doesn't work. I am trying to use dvd decrypter, but it doesn't make the iso, it starts the process and just hangs. Same thing with nero. The timers work but the progress bar never moves.
I can give any other information about my system if anyone needs it to help me out. Thanks.

Yes, provide your system specs. How much RAM does your system have?

Is your source disc dirty or scratched? Is DVD Decrypter giving you an indication that is retrying the offensive file at the point of failure?

I am running it on an 1.6mhz amd athlon xp 1800+ with 256mb ram, running windows xp. I was able to get the copy using clonecd, but i am still trying to figure out why dvd decrypter, and nero don't work. I was able to make an iso using clonecd, but when I went to burn it it didn't work. I then turned off zonealarm, and it worked. I tried with the other programs, but no luck. Would something like zonealarm cause any problems?

Well the 256mb of ram will be your main problem. Windows XP can take up to 128mb of ram just to run the OS. Your DVD drive can command another 128mb (my LG takes 512mb) so you see your ram is used up just starting.

You need to do an upgrade to at least 512 with 1gb a better choice.

Can i just say that i can confirm 9mmruger1's words, as i just got an upgrade from 512Mb to a 1Gb RAM for that reason.

If you want to go into burning serious stuff (games and movies) you need a minimally capable machine. I started with RAM but a M/board and a new processor are in the can already (I'm running a P4 @2.4Gb, M/B FSB 266MHz)... I can get by with this, but i need better performance as i'm getting more into this hobby.

It's expensive but in your case, and IMVHO, it's very necessary.

The system used will definately affect the efficiency. More the better I say.

    Cheers.
