__________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ************************************************** How to identify the protection of a CD (or Image) ************************************************** __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1) Run Clony XXL. The first time you use it, you might want to change the language from German (default) to english. Just click the "Optionen/Tools" button first, then select the English flag (see image below) 2) After that, choose the unit you want to scan. In this example we suppose you have a CD on the CD-ROM drive (Unit D and an image 'mounted' (i.e. using Alcohol 120%) on the virtual drive (Unit F 3) Select the drive you want to scan, then press "Scan CD". You might encounter different results. For instance: shows an unprotected PC CD, shows a protected (Libcrypt) PSX CD, and shows a protected (SecuROM 4.8x) PC CD. With the button 'Scan Options' you can switch on more advanced scan options that will make a more accurate analysis of your image and/or CD (at the expense of a larger scanning time) After identifying the protection method, you can choose the proper application to backup your CD (Back to the main Guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/23699 )
