i have got this problem with my second hard drive. its a 40GB maxtor dimond 8 hard drive and is set to slave and is used for downloading and to store my mp3s. i took out my hard drive out of my compute and put it in a different computer to copy the files i needed and then put it back in my computer.when i hooked everything back up how it was before my second hard drive didnt have a path letter and wasnt shown in my computer but show in device manager and also disk management. in disk management it didnt have a drive letter and said the drive was active. i couldnt access my files on this hard drive. so i formatted it and its full capacity now says 22.8GB when its a 40GB hard drive. i have tried many things to get this 17.2GB that seems to be missing from this hard drive. am running out of ideas and i need some help. can any body suggest any ideas how i can sort this out. thanks
