Thinking of buying anydvd and clone dvd. Would this be the best for backup/copying new releases? And does it have free updates? Im having trouble with some new movies with free programs like dvd dec, and shrink.

i think anydvd is great. no issues. and free updates with the purchase key. but clone ahs them for a year only with the key.
you caould try dvdfab. that has it built into it.

I am still using Shrink and DVD Decrypter. The only thing I am doing different on some of the newer ones is running it through DVDFabDecrypter first. Works like a charm, just make sure you keep updated on DVDFab Decrypter, currently ver. 2.9.6.6 .

I tried to burn Madagascar with dvdfab today, no luck! Clonedvd2 went straight through it like a supermodel on laxatives!

For ease of use, and compatibility with each other AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 hands down.

    My methods are:

    <><> A <><>

<> DVD Decrypter (File Mode to rip) or DVDFAB Decrypter (to rip)
<> VobBlanker to process and blank out unwanted stuff
<> Nero Recode 2 to transcode/encode and burn with Nero Burning Rom

    <><> B <><>

    <> DVDFAB Decrypter (to rip)
<> PgcEdit combo PSL2 plugin to process using FixVTS
<> VobBlanker to process and blank out unwanted stuff
<> Nero Recode 2 to transcode/encode and burn with Nero Burning Rom

So far I've never experienced any issues whatsoever.
