I have to make a presentation that'll be on a CD read by IE 6. All I can assume about the PC's this'll be played on is that they are "administrative-type" PC's: Used by computer-challenged administrative types and setup by by the IT guys. So minimum capability, eh? I mean no extra codecs, no special tweaks, and so on. That said, I'm looking for a video format that'll be played by WinXP without any extras, with the highest quality and smallest file size (of course <g>). There are so many formats, and even variations on a format (X-DVD Ripper has 7 .avi formats!) Any pointers will be appreciated. --jim
well, you could use fdd show and include the installer on the cd depends, how old are these machines your talking about
Since XP includes WMP9, I would assume that it comes with WMV9 decoders. So I guess WMV is the way to go. For pure compatibility though, you really can't beat MPEG-1.
