can someone help? just tried to burn my first dvd using dvd shrink and nero. everything goes fine but when it tries to read the cd just before the burn process a message saying "the disc is not writable". im using a five pack dvd-r bought from asda an made sure they were compatable with the burner so i cant work out whats wrong.the burners a sony dvd-r/rw combo drive if its any help.can anyone help? thanks
Sometimes media codes are not recognized by the burner without a firmware update. Visit this site: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php and put the model of your drive in the search box and hit search. It will show you if you need a firmware update. If you do, download it to your desktop. Turn off all programs. Double click on the download file and it should self install or give you directions to install. If you have problems, post back with your burner number and I will look it up for you. Cheers.
had a look on that link mate-its got a firmware version uys2 update to make it region free- is this anythin to do with the prob? i checked my firmware version in nero an its uys3 do you think i should install uys2? my burner model is a sony dw-q58a by the way -thanks again for ya help
