i'ved edited out your serial number..

    - TU56 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1971

    - you need to close down more programs prior to ALL dvd work/burning to free up more memory

    - 4460MB is burning too close to outer edge of discs. If you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space

    - very nice discs

    - seems to have worked ok, try 4x, though i can't see anything in the log that would explain the disc being blank. maybe the firmware will help

Creaky as always your advice is appreciated. Sorry just figured out SN is in the log twice
I did msconfig and shut down everthing in the list before I started burning. Should I be shutting down more?

You've done a pretty good job of freeing up memory, but you really should add another memory stick. 512MB is just about the mininum needed for DVD ripping. Memory is fairly cheap, and easy to install. There are many programs that hog up memory, and sometimes its just easier to let them be a hog, and get more memory.
    Also
its up to 4b now. Not sure what was done, but an update is an update.
Hey creaky, did you see this? and how do you get that?
Looks like nero was told to NOT write to disc. ?? WTF??
Ok, i think i see it was in the first recode log, and maybe that is just reporting the recoding, not the burning as the last log shows the 8x burn. Am i interpeting that correctly? Not sure about that 0kbs write speed, i don't remember seeing that in a log before.
