    The only thing I can see is you are using cmc media.

    I.M.H.O. it stands for crap media corp.

    Ok. Thanks. I will get some Taiyo Yuden media and give that a try. Also, I noticed a question mark on the line below? Is this a possible problem?

    (Taken from the Log)
    Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ?

    Thanks for your help!

    No, that's not the problem in this case. The real culprit is the media aka CMC MAG, which is the one you're using now. Try other high quality media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo/datalife plus" and Maxell (mij by Hitachi) for your next dvd burning project. Make sure you keep your burning speed to 4X, yes... that's one of the best speed and most recommended for dvd burning.

    Good luck!!

    Hey Alkohol ! :)
    @mv202
    Yep, media can make all the difference with DVD burning. Use stuff like CMC, and you take chances. Some ppl swear by them, others swear at them (guess which side im on? :) ). I make no bones about how i hate the stuff, because it failed for me, and i found out later after finding AD, MANY OTHERS. So it wasn't just something i was doing, other than using bad media. I learned, and haven't produced a coaster because of media (other than when i tried a 16x burn, but thats another story).

    And for some reason Nero 7 logs show that ? there. On vers 6 it used to show a problem with your system ASPI layer, unless the drive was external. Now, im not sure what that shows that is of use in troubleshooting. To me its kind of like a warning light that always stays on.. pretty soon you ignore it. If you were concerned, you could run nero's info tool, and check your aspi with that tool.
    You should see something like this on your info tool:
    [IMG]
    Also here is what AD says about ASPI layers and how to install them:
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm
    and a link to aspi discussed in more detail with links
    http://www.ncf.carleton.ca/~aa571/aspi.htm
    just in case... :)

    whompus, MaxBurn, alkohol,

    Thanks a lot for all of the information. I tried a verbatim disc today and it worked! Too bad I already purchased a 100pack of the memorex cmc disks. After reading your posts I have been convinced to buy better media from now on.
    Thanks!

    Glad you are burning again. That is why we suggest using good media. Sometimes the main problem is [bold]the media[/bold], and CMC is one of those problem medias. Stick with the good stuff, and your burning problems will be few and far between. :)
