Hi! I have a burner NEC 3550A. I mostly use DVDD+Shrink( they're free and do they do the magic! I burn with DVDD,so my understanding is that I can not booktype to DVD-ROM with the Decrypter(or can it be done?!?). Following some threads here I was suggested to download the modified firmware 1y4 rpc1. When I was getting ready, a little warning window popped up, about how the flashing would be irreversable,matbe damaging the drive,losing manufacturer warranty...blah.blah....So I stopped. Anything I should worry about, did anyone have any problems with their burners(any, not particularly NEC) after downloading a modified firmware? Problems or not, any sugestions appreciated. Thanx.
hi is that the liggy ????? firmware to make your drive booktype? there are some people here who use it!
yes, I think it is Iggy. I was just wondering if anyone else with any other modif. firmware had any problems.I downloaded ImgBurn and still wont let me to just booktype to DVD-Rom. And I wouldn't spend money yet on something like Nero, since all I do is backup.
hi not that i read and only good reports... also makes a non booktype drive booktype from what i can gather!
