i have been working on this for days. reading every thread that might help me. my memorex dvd+/-dlrwl1 f16 does not recognize when a dvd is in it. errors such as insert disc. no disc in drive. etc. i did have a corrupted aspi. i did force the aspi and it is now running correctly. i have checked my firmware. as far as i can tell i have the current firmware. i have checked the drivers and my system says i have the current drivers. i have completely removed nero. reinstalled, tried and updated version. tried windvd. purchased codec to use the windows media player, etc. the drive recognizes audio cds. but does not recognize dvd's. i am really new to all of this. i have had my dvd burner for a year and have only played a couple of movies on it. it did at one time recognize dvd's. the burner will run when you put the dvd in it and then just does not see the disc. i am frustrated and realize the biggest problem is that i dont have enough knowledge. trying to learn on the way. can anyone help me. and i apologize if this has been posted and i just missed it. but i think that i have already done everything suggested thus far. i have not unistalled the drivers and reinstalled them b/c i can not locate my disc for this. or actually, just dont know which one i am supposed to put in. maybe that is the problem? thank-you, puzzled one.
make sure u have the jumper in the back set correctly(master,slave). if u have anydvd,dvd43,or dvd idle make sure u only have one installed at the time.
