I backup files using DVD shrink. Then I add all the TS_VIDEO files using nero DVD-VIDEO but everytime I burn very soon into the burning process I get an error. The error is 19 pages long and I can't make any sense of it. Any thoughts?

if u have nero already installed, shrink should open it by its self. try it like that and see if it works. if not, try using dvddecrypter to burn with. there are some links in my sig that should help u with shrink.

if his dosent work then, instead of backing up the DVD as a Hard Drive Folder(VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS), back it up as an Image file then try burning /w Nero

    Best of luck ^_^

    I agree with Starrift,
Select the iso option and burn it with nero. This also gives you the opportunity to Book type it, if you are using +R discs and your Burner is compatable.

I personally have had occational problems with the burn engine in DVD Decrypter. Some people do not.

I tried burning directly with nero and it burned 42% and then I got this long error that I took this out of:

    9:16:19 PM #24 CDR -1093 File Writer.cpp, Line 311
    No seek complete

    9:16:19 PM #25 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 228
    all writers idle, stopping conversion

    9:16:19 PM #26 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 222
    conversion idle, stopping reader

    9:16:19 PM #27 Phase 38 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 276
    Burn process failed at 8x (11,080 KB/s)

    9:16:19 PM #28 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 867
    DRM: DRM burn session terminated.

    9:16:19 PM #29 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 896
DRM: Closing entire DRM handling. Bye.

Where is the option in DVD shrink to do ISO I cant find it. Also what is book typing?

This may be one of your problems. Try burning at 2x or 4x speed.
Also, What type of disc's are you using. +R or -R? What is the brand name?
Do a quick search as to what a good quality brand in comparison to a not so good quality brand.
I personaly use Verbatim, but there are other great brand names with quality results as well.

Did you try creating an iso file this time?

How about if you list everything else as well. Such as Burner type, cpu, ram, hard drive, etc. Is your programs and firmware up to date?

    Could lead to some clues.

This is from one of my earlier posts. A little lengthly, but some useful information. Take a minute to read.

    And about the Iso Option in DVD Shrink. When you are ready to "Back Up" and you've reduced the size "Below 4300", click the Back Up button, and you should see in the first pop up screen the [bold]Select Backup Target[/bold] pull down Menu. When you pull that down, you have the option to do the following;
-Burn with Nero (Which is probaly your default)
    -Create Iso Image File
-Create Iso Image File and Burn with DVD Decrypter
    -Hard Disk Folder

...and as stated above, Booktyping is when you convert your +R DVD into and DVD-ROM format, which makes it more compatable for most players. This is not an option for -R DVD's.

Once again, I appologize for the lengthly message. Hope it helps.

let's see what needs tweaking in your Nero setup...

...let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

It has been working much better with 4x and restarting my computer before burning.
