I would suggest you download free 21 day trial of AnyDVD and have it running in the background and try again.

Can you rip PS2 games on DVD Decrypter? Do you need a chip inside the PS2 or something to make it read?

    king007,
yes i believe you need a mod chip to play backed up ps2 games. Alcohol 120% has a setting specifically for ps2 games. the cd-r forum should be of use to you.

Can Alcohol 120% even burn like Sims 1&2 games for the PC and others and can play with the burned ones?

Decrypter will copy a DVD game no problem.
The trouble you may have afterwards, is either playing the copy back, this is where chips and swap disks come into it.
You may also have a problem with dummy files etc... in the game which ruin the copy disk.
The way around this is to rebuild the game before burning it.
However your problem id likely to be as plain and simple as dirt or scratches on the disk.
The original game may well load okay, but may stop at the faulty part Decrypter and Alcohol have found.
I would clean the disk with a fine compound, personally I use either autosol chrome cleaner, or steelfix stainless steel pan cleaner.
