G'day, hoping someone can help me. I did a complete backup using Nero BackItUp on Nero Version 6 ( 6 x DVD-R comprising of 38Gb ) The inevitable happened and I needed to reinstall all programs. I decided at this stage to upgrade to Nero v7.0.1.4b.Premium. I have attempted to Restore my files but no luck. Although the *nbi file is on the last disc, when I open it with Nero no information displays. My questions are; Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong ? Can I Restore files backed up with Version 6 on Nero Version 7 or do I have to use the same version I backed it up with? Is there a guide for Nero Backitup? I downloaded all the help files from Nero for v7 but no help files were there for BackItUp. Is there anyway to decompress these files other than Nero? Can I chose which files to Restore or do I have to Restore everything? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Hi, I was just about to ask the same question cos i have exactly the same problem with my 6 backup discs....someone please help.
I don't know for sure but you would probably be better off using the same version of software you used to make the backup.
yep, that's crossed my mind too and, when all else fails, i'm probably gonna end up temporarily installing the earlier version of nero6 ad hoc. thanks
I too will probably re-nstall Nero 6, although I have been able to unzip all files that I can access on 3 of the discs using WinZip, tedious but worthwhile. My bigger problem seems to be that I cannot see any information on the other 3 discs. I don't know why, if I could access the files, I would WinZip them and bypass un-installing, re-installing Nero. So Guyy, try WinZip if you want. Question. Can you see info on all Discs or just on some?
