I'm sorry if there is another thread with the same problem, but I looked and couldn't find a solution that worked. I have had no problems with burning music cds striaght through itunes, but recently I decided to back-up some dvds using the dvd decrypter, dvd shrink, nero process. decrypter and shrink work fine, but I tried to burn the movie and was given the "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once" error. I tried changing things and reburning and wasted a couple dvd-Rs. And today I decided to try a music cd with nero and was given the error "Could not perform start of Disc-at-once". The cd-R was not ruined, but I would like to get nero to work. It is an hp laptop with an internal DVD/ CD rom drive. (more specifically Matshita UJ-840D) below is a log from the unsuccessful DVD burn. Thanks in advance for the help!

That is the very first version of NEro ever. They are now on 6.6.0.18. I'm not completly sure about your firmware, though, this might be it:

Try something like Yuden or Verbatims. Sony and Fuji are only good if they are made in japan.

    HI

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM (AMONGST OTHERS), I UPDATED THE FIRWARE ON MY ROM AND WRITER AND ALSO YOU PROBABLY NEED TO GET A BETTER/LATEST VERSION OF NERO.
I DECIDED TO GET THE LATEST NERO DEMO OFF THE WEB SITE IT WORKS FINE SO BOUGHT A SERIAL NUMBER, WORTH IT IF IT WORKS AND SAVES ALL THE MESSING AROUND.BEST TO COMPLETELY UNINSTALL THE ENTIRE NERO FOLDERS AND AHEAD , GO INTO REGISTRY TOO. SEARCH FOR ANY FILES OR FOLDERS NAMED NERO/AHEAD AND DELETE THEM ALL SO THERE IS NO TRACE OF ANYTHING THEN REINSTALL ON A FRESH BOOT.

I found an easier way to do it. Thanks for all the advice though. It must have been nero because I have successfully backed up 3 movies ripping with shrink and burning w/ decrypter.

I figured it was Nero, you were hundreds of versions behind. Really consider updating it though.
