Help! can't read dvd

    I have a dvd that I just can't read on my Sony DRU-710a, ie put it in the dvd drive and heard various bleep then nothing and window explorer thinks there is no disc so are dvd shrink etc.

    the dvd plays fine on my other players though, so what cound be the problem?

    At first I thought it could be region problem. because the sony is set to region 1. but I tried having AnyDVD running in the background with the same result. what else cound be wrong??!!

    Is your firmware up to date? Does the disc play in your standalone dvd player?

    original or copy?

    could be dirty/scratched/greasy ?
