I have many music vids on VHS and i wanted to back them up on my pc and also play them on my dvd player.

I Hooked the vcr up to my capture card and used VirtualDub-1.6.12 to capture the vid as avi on my hard drive. I then used TMPEnc to ecode the the files to mpeg1 format.

I can now play the vids on my computer, Burn them onto a data dvd disc so can watch them on my dvd player(you can fit more on a dvd disc by burning it as data than by making it dvd format) or make a dvd with menus.

I dont have the best capture card in the world its getting pretty old but it still turned out better than i thought it would.

If anyone has any questions about this method, i'm happy to try and help.
