    I have been doing some reading about different types of media. I had been using Memorex, known here as Memosux, to backup my movies. I have since gone through and checked some of them and they come up as Prodisc Technology, ProdiscS03. I also have some that come up as CMC Magnectics Corp, CMC Mag AE1. Should I redo either of those onto different media? I purchased some of the Sony dvd-r's from Staples with a Manufacturer Name of Taiyo Yunden, and Manufacturer Id of TYG02. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    I wouldn't, just because it would take a while and I'm lazy/busy (what???). I figure if you already have it burned on they disc and there are no skips are anything it'll be fine. Some might argue that better media will help it last a little longer but... :(

    Definitely YES..., if you value the longevity and quality of your backups (especially if you really enjoy the movie), then re-backup those good movies into the new high quality media Taiyo Yuden that you've just purchased.

    Good luck!!

    Should I backup ALL of the ones I did on memorex or just the ones with the CMC Magnectics manufacturer?

    @peteacher

    Any movies that you like (enjoy) that was backed up on Memorex needs to re-backup onto Taiyo Yuden (those that you've just purchased), or Verbatim or Maxell (mij Hitachi) should be good.

    Honestly, I would, if I were you.
