Hi all, This is my first thread, so please beare with me. This may have already been covered, but I have looked and am having difficulty. I have downloaded some files and have been converting them using Virtual Dub and TMPGEng (some of the files will convert and others won't) and then recording them with Nero Express 5.5 (this was a bundled software with my computer). I was recording them onto CDr as I didn't have a DVD burner. I have now been given a burner and want to convert these files. I was then told that I can convert all avi files with ROXIO. This works fine, but I can't record them. I know Nero and Roxio don't work well with each other, but I really need help. All I want to do is be able to convert avi/divx files into DVD format so I can then burn them in one-easy-step onto DVD-s. Please help. If anyone has any information, I would be very grateful.
I would uninstall roxio and update to nero6 here (you can try the 30 day trial of nero 7, but 6 should suffice for now): http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/Updates.html Than follow Alkohol's guide to burning AVI to DVD: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946 I don't know much on Roxio, but have been using Nero much more since reading some of Alkohol's posts. Plus there are a slew of guides to using Nero. I know in the new updated version of Nero 6, avi to dvd is one of the options.
