    Hi

I am quite new to the world of ripping but have had great success ripping my DVDs to VCds. I now want to progress so that I can convert avi files to VCDs. I know you lose quite a lot of quality but I download a lot of movies from Kazaa and they are nearly always avi files. How can I do this? I have Smartripper, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc...

    Thanks
    Devo

You can use TMPGEnc to convert. Sometimes, it won't convert compressed audio files. in that case, it is better to use VIRTUALDUB (It's a freeware), create wav files from the AVI, and merge with TMPGEnc. I am using this method. And NERO 5.5 is a good program to burm VCDs. If the files are too long, you can even cut them with TMPGEnc!
