Hey, I just need a new motherboard and CPU, and I really want a good board for gaming. I have an AGP video card (6600GT) so it would have to be an AGP compatible board.

I was browsing the forum and someone suggested this board:

    [bold]ASRock 939 Dual SATA2[/bold]

I checked it out, and was supprised to see that it took, PCI-E, aswell as AGP. That would be perfect. Because in the future, I would like to buy a PCI-E card, but in the mean time, I can be running my 6600gt on this board.

The CPU I'm looking at getting is the AMD Athlon 64 3700+.

So would this be a good board for high end gaming, keeping in mind that I have an AGP, so it wouldnt be TOO high end...

    I play Half-Life 2, ect.

    Please, any suggestions? Thanks.

its the only board ive seen that gives you the option of having both AGP and PCI-E so unless you want to upgrade your graphics aswell id say you should probably go with that board.

i have a friend who has that board and apart from the first one he recieved being broken in transit has had no problems at all. he has the athlon 64 3500 on it and plays half life quite a lot and says hes been quite impressed with it (he only has a mid range graphics card aswell so you should be flying with that 6600GT)

Let us know if it has any "good" features for overclocking if you will as well. Thanks
