hi everyone im new to this site . i just want to find out if i can install a windows media center on to my sony vaio computer is a window xp home edition kind i want to know if i can put the WMC on to it ?????
you can install media center edition to any computer that fits the minumum requirements and your laptop most certainly does. what exactly do you want to gain by installing media center? you can do everything you can do in media center on XP home (near enough anyway) you just use 3rd party apps instead of the ones you get with MCE (which arent very many)
thxx for the help !!!! i know i can do anything on my xp home but the thing is that i have too much movies and files and i dont like to look for it if i have the media center i can shorted out all my files but wat happen if i dont have the remote for it can i still use my media center with out a remote ?????
yeh sure you can, the remote isnt essential. in any case you can buy the remote seperately for around £30 should you want it. i recently purchased the remote but i cant see any major advantage to having it. also the media center program itself isnt actually that good for archiving files in as you cant even view a lot of your computers files and folders from within it. also it will only play certain media types whether you have got the codecs or not. my advise to you would be to just spend a little time sorting out how you store your movies and archive them properly so you dont have to worry about finding them
hey is me again i just wondering i got my windows media center install on to my computer but for some reason when i turn my media center on all i see is black screen with nothin else can u help me on that ??? thxxxx
