Good Morning. Now without sounding like a total div, please bear with me on this as I'm completely new to ripping and burning DVD's etc.

I've used Decryptor to rip a dvd to my hard drive, and used DVD shrink and reauthored it to my HDD. I then used my NTI Gold 6.7 to burn the files to the blank DVD -R - and wey hey, it played in my old panasonic dvd-R player.

However, I've been downloading movie clips from the net, which I used NTI Gold 6.7 to convert from .avi to .mpg

I then try to burn these to the DVD burner onto a blank DVD-R disk, and it won't play in my Panasonic dvd-r player? it will play in our portable tv (which has a built in dvd player and is only 6 months old) in the bedroom.

What am I doing wrong? Is it the NTI software? Any advice would be welcome, I feel like "I'm almost there" (where I want to be!) but so far!

    All opinions and feedback/advice welcome!

    cheers

    Rob.

I will not comment about you downloading movies from the net, which can be illegal........ I will comment about your incompatible disks to players: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136
this link has many usefull tips and ticks of the trade! I would pay close attention to #3,#4,#12...... and that should address your problem.
