    Hi!
I recently bought 3 8.5GB verbatim DVD-s, so i can burn the whole dvd. eeeeeee wrong. they aren't so cheap so i'm desperate because i can't find anywhere the anwser why does burning with nero 6 cause problems like burning only up to 49% like it burns only one layer. So if anyone knows the solution to my problem please help me.

p.s. If I won't be able to do the above, is it better to split dvd9 or shriking it to dvd5? + a link to a guide for spliting dvd9 to dvd5 for clone dvd2 would be usefull.

    thanks

What's the brand name/format/and speed rate of those blank dvd-9's?

After reading many posts on nero6 having trouble with the layer break when backing up onto dual layers,I don't bother trying.

Here's another option which is very good, and faster than using dvd shrink and nero:

Dvd decrypter in ISO read mode. It's free, and that mode is for a 1:1 copy. No compression at all.Dvd-5 to dvd-5 or Dvd-9 to Dvd-9

    Very simple:
    Insert original dvd
    Open up dvd decrypter/Mode/ISO/Read
Click the hardrive/burn icon and remember where those files go
After it rips, install blank dual layer disc
    Click Mode/ISO/Write
Locate the mds folder on your harddrive/open/ok
Your movie should be displayed/set burn speed/click harddrive-burn icon and that's all she wrote. Make sure your dvd-rw model is selected as Destination.

Another option is to rip with dvd decrypter in ISO mode, and burn with IMGburn. Imgburn was created by the same author of dvd decrypter and it's also free. It's suppose to be a better dual layer burn engin. It even looks just like dvd decrypter in ISO write mode, but it doesn't rip. Same thing:

After you use dvd decrypter to place those files on Harddrive in ISO mode, open up IMGburn, locate that mds folder and burn.

    Verbatim, dual layer DVD-r, 4x.
What if i have my files already on harddisk in non-img format. I have it stored as prepared dvd (video_ts and audio_ts). Do i now put it in the img format and try what you wrote? btw thanks for doing this

EcHO, use IMGBurn instead of Nero, that should solve your problem. Nero seems to have issues at the layerbreak, that's why it reaches only 49%.

    EcHO,
Are you using a brand new blank disk? What is the size of your file you trying to burn?
