I'm having trouble burning with Nero, im trying to burn a Memorex 16x DVD-R with Nero 7 and before it even starts burning it pops up an error, I'm guessing it's just the media though since I can burn a Staples DVD-RW just fine with the exact same iso.... heres the log: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 12:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 7.0.1.4 Internal Version: 7, 0, 1, 4 (Nero Express) Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A> Version: 1.0C - HA 1 TA 1 - 7.0.1.4 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? You are right about it being the disk. Then it goes on to report Thats a +r speed so it must see the disk as +r instead of the -r that it is. Therefore writing the leadin is failing.
Well, is there anything I can do to fix it? Because it's a brand new 50 pk... btw, I also tried it at 2x and that didn't work either...
At this time I dont think there is anything you can do to fix it. The write stratigie seems to be wanting to write to it as a +r (if I am not mistaken). The only thing that will fix that will be newer firmware. I think you have the newest at the moment for your drive.
Sorry couldnt be more help. Maybe wheu a newer firmware is released you can use them up. I say try to stay away from memorex because you never know who makes them for memorex.
