I know, I've used them (Sony 8x) but they are so expensive! It's just that I had an order for Newegg for my parts and wanted to get everything in one shot. Got it covered thanks to a friend! I've had very good success with the RiDatas until this last batch. Still, my failure rate is less than 1%! And that's out of 700 disks! Not too bad!

I wound up with a 64x2 4800+ for the eMachine. The 45 watt chips were out of stock and I didn't want to wait and wind up paying more for shipping! My G.Skill 800MHz memory is going in the AMD and the 1066 G.Skill I ordered is mine! LOL!! All Mine!!!!! ROFL!! I also ordered that Enzotech NB cooler from Sidewinder. Sidewinder is a PITA to deal with! It took 4 complete do-overs on the order form to finally get it ordered. It wouldn't accept my zip code or the state! Said that there was no such state as Ca! That wouldn't be so bad except it wipes the whole thing clean, every time and you have to start all over again! ARGH!!! Oh well, at least it's all a done deal!

Best Regards,
Russ

I have the A1H Rob, it is the IDE version of your SATA drive, I have one, it roots for the Red Sox. ( A 1 Hero)

For scratched discs I picked up a Memorex OptiFix Pro and I don't care what other people say, it does work. I've resurfaced a dozen scratched discs to the point where I can rip them. One got scratched by being improperly in a vertical drive. You could see where the spindle miss-grabbed the disc. I was able to smooth away the scratches and rip (save) the disc. You can actually feel the difference, the survace is smoother. I do put a weight on the lid, otherwise it would take forever on some discs, and even then I run the cycle several times.

You trying to start something Mr.???? :P

Over-rated is such a strong term.... They work well and bit-set but I've had ZERO problems using DVD-R.... I think it's my parents stand alone DVD player that "dislikes" the DVD+R discs, so they get the DVD-R discs when backing up movies. ;)

I do believe the Good Doctor had an issue like that as well. :)

no problem lol

I just think people get to hung up on the DVD dash R vs the DVD plus R ,I think alot of people think just because they say plus they have to be better. whats way more important it that you use a quality brand like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and use good burning practices, speed, software and process other factors ,using quality drives/burners, burning on a clean machine and not interfering while your in the burning process
