You can't seriously tell me that your CPU runs 40C at full load on the stock cooler at that overclock, surely?

Not at FULL load, but as far as video encoding goes I have never seen it go below 40C. I'll check again.

If I were to OC a 2160(which I just might...) I would go back to my roots and pull out my old Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. That little chip would hit 3GHz easy :P

The E2160 could end up going into an Aspire X-Qpack.

But for now I'm gonna concentrate on getting to work every day, lol.

how far can you OC E2160? some say up to 3.4GHz stable thats 80%...i wonder if it's possible to OC to 3.6GHz without increase to much volts

Last time I checked 3.4Ghz was 90% lol.
3.6 might be doable, but the volts would be pretty high, the E2160's ancestor the E4300 (my CPU lol) tops out at about 3.2 unless you give it loads of volts.

hmm...lol 90% my bad, some say you can clock to 2.8GHz on defualt volt, then that means at 3.4GHz you only need to raise a bit? Isn't E2xxx are better clockers? and the more volts you increase the higher your clock, wouldn't that be kinda dangerous?

The overclock you achieve doesn't directly have any negative effcect on the CPU, it's only the voltage really.
The E2000 series are good clockers, but 600mhz beyond the max you can achieve at stock will warrant a surprisingly large increase in voltage.

my other friend said that Frostbite is an Intel mobo...seriously i never heard it before, when i told my friends i'll be OC my E2160 from 1.8GHz to 3.6GHz he that it is stupid, i think he is a nOOb! What is THE difference between X38 and P35? and 680i and 780i? If you have a choice between X38 and 780i which one would be better? and why most motherboard manu produce X38 more than 780i?

The 780i is brand new, the X38 isn't, so the X38 will be more commonplace. That and the fact that recent nvidia chipsets haven't been quite as great as they used to be.

true 780i is quite new. I wonder if the new 9 series will be able to 3-Way Sli. and i've heard that 780i doesn't really increase performance that much compare it to 680i, and much hotter.

If the 780i is any hotter than the 680i I'm amazed it doesn't have a bigger heatsink than the processor. The 650i got up to 90C (even when it would say 42 in the BIOS) with the stock heatsink, and that was pretty damn big. The 680i was slightly cooler but it had a copper heatsink, and it was bigger still in many cases.

But anyways. When my finances are back in order I just might pick up an E2160 for a SFF LAN build. MUCH easier than lugging around my Thermaltake Armor lol.

Until then, I'm SOL as far as new stuff. I already had to sell most of my goodies to get some money for bills...

But I kept all the good stuff and switched back to a Gigabyte board. The X1800XT is good enough for now. Anything but Crysis will MAX out on it so... eh.

That's only one review in which I have seen the Q6600 get beat. Even if it does, it can overclock so much more to the point that Phenoms are still worthless. To me at least.

Estuansis, you have a Armor case too? They're awesome aren't they? The LEDs are too bright to watch movies though, I have to cover them up lol.

I think so too. When the new core revisions come out, It'll be interesting to see what kind of OC head-room they have. If they OC awesomely... well, then Intel has a competitor again :P

Given the relatively slight difference in cost between the 9500 Phenom and the Q6600, if the 9900 isn't faster than it in all scenarios, unless AMD are planning yet another price drop, this looks like another failed product...
Only if you can overclock the cherries off the Phenoms will they be worth seriously considering. So far signs in that department aren't good.

About the case, mine is aluminium, so only 12lb empty, and has a carry handle. Hoorah!

Yep, but only the original Classic Lexa comes with the carrybag etc. The Blackline, while just as good looking, is the cut-down cheaper version.

The Phenom black edition only overclocked to 2.7 Ghz at Tom's Hardware.
