hi. i am burning avi files to dvd using nero 7 and the burn process completes most of the time but when i play the dvd in my player after about 5 - 10 minutes the sound slips behind the video by about a second and is like that till the end of the episode. when i play these files on my pc there is no problem. is there something im doing wrong or is it a problem with avi files as ive read a previous post with a similar problem but didnt get answered. i would be very grateful for any help or suggestions. thanks for your time.

Out of curiosity where did you obtain the AVI files you are trying to burn...are you backing up a DVD or are the files downloaded.

they are recording from the TV and downloaded from the net

they play perfectly on the PC before converting to DVD even if I burn to HD the audio lags

just tried a high quality recording to HD with DB5.1 to see if that would help but still no joy

Encoding mode: High Quality (2-Pass VBR)

    Aspect ratio: 16:9
    Quality: High quality (8000 kbps)
    Resolution: 720 x 576 (CCIR-601 D1)
    Audio SmartEncoding ratio: 0.0 %
    Video SmartEncoding ratio: 0.0 %

This appears to be a common problem with files downloaded from net, unfortunately I cannot offer a solution. On reading this thread I was pretty certain the files were downloaded but asked just for confirmation.

    Hi,

I had the same problem as you, I sorted it out by updating nero to NeroVision Express 2 SE. Its fine now no more out of sync dvd's.

    Hope this helps
