I am looking into getting media center, does anyone know what extra features you get while having your xbox and media center hooked together? Thanks for your input in advance..

basically u can stream video

can also record live tv onto your pc >< dont be mistaken not your xbox.

i think basically thats all u get well that and listen to music and look at pictures but u can do that with a normal windows based pc

HMMM About the music, in what format does it have to be?, i have a few folders shared with the xbox360 and it wont play, well it wont appear on the xbox player. I think my files are ACC4 not sure but i know some are mp3's.

BAD NEWS

you need a media center pc $799.00 in order to use the media center version of windows xp so you need a new computer in order to use media center because during installation media center edition windows xp requires a video tv tuner card a graphics card of 512megs or better

If "Windows Media Connect" is installed you can still connect to your XBOX360 to your computer to stream video and music. I do think you need full blown XP MCE on the PC to do the TV recording part though.

You can get Windows Media Connect from Windows UPdate or from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e93a0ba1...

If you already have a tuner you can purchase Windows MCE 2005 from many places such as www.newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832102357. Thats what I did and it works great with my ATI All In Wonder and my ATI remote. Of course I had to do a few tweaks with the remote setup, but thats it.
