i had a thread going with gwendaline who gave me a lot of help, Thanks, when I tried to burn a xvcd to dvd on nero 6 nero showed a completion time of over 4 hours which I found high. She advised maybee i am in pio mode, and I checked from alcohols thread and both my channells show dma mode. Can anybody help advising what could be the problem for my dvd writer to take so long, usually when I burn jpgs on video its done in a flash. I have a 2400 with 1` gig of mem and a 40 gigt hd.
    Any help is appreciated
    thanks

is nero up to date and the burners firmware up to date?
    run a de-frag lately?
clean up extra space... maintenance anyway..
did this happen one time or is it all the time now?
possibly anti virus working at that time !!

no multi tasking, shut down all un-needed apps. while encoding and burning..

    wschw,
Yes it can take that long even longer, it depends on many factors, but is mainly the power of your pc and software used. I think you are doing just about right with your specs.
