I am an "old girl" new to all this DVD burning stuff! I have Nero Smart Start which came with my DVD burner but it has no instructions whatsoever. I need a step by step guide - they didn't even have electric typewriters when I was young!! I have a few DVD movies which I would like to copy for my grandchildren - also some wonderful holiday pictures which I would like to put on a DVD to send to friends overseas. Does anyone know where I can get instructions for dummies like me?? Many thanks to anyone who can help. (I can ask my son, but I want to show him that I can take care of myself!!)

Nero has instructions on their website, www.nero.com . You need to check out the forum on how to do a backup for DVD movies. The factory DVD movies have encryption to prevent copying. Decryption programs such as AnyDVD will work for that. For the beginner, I'd suggest going to http://www.slysoft.com site and downloading the AnyDVD trial and CloneDVD2. It's one of the simpler program combinations for doing a movie backup. You can read how they work at the website. The nero instructions will show you how to record pictures. Usually digital cameras come with photo software for recording and sharing photos. If you're still using a film camera, the developing company can put the photos on a CD for easier sharing and viewing on a monitor.
