I have 2 drives. My top drive is just a DVD-ROM and my bottom drive is a DVD-RW. The DVD-ROM light blinks constantly except when I open the tray. It stops. Then blinks again when I put it in. The computer is recognizing the drive, but it won't read any media I put in. Can anyone help me out and tell me what could possibly be wrong.
It's just a DVD-ROM. They are so cheap. I wouldn't even waist my time on it. I would check my cable connections and firmware, and if all seemed to be as they should, but still did not work, go buy a new one. You could also check for Dust Bunnies! JBurden
