ENCODING problems..plz help!

    guys sorry to bother for a while now i ve been trying to encode n burn my xvids.or divx or watever type of files i have to burn to dvds..i ve used dvd santa..apollo divx to dvd...avi to dvd..nero..u name it..the process starts out good..it says encoding n stuff..but 2-10 mins later..my computer shuts off...the start up light starts blinking yellow..n i used to burn em..encode em andstuff ..but all the sudden i cant..i ve reboote it my computer 2 times...(i m ean reset it with the start up disks) n nothing..neo ne have ne suggestions..please help..thanx for the time

    What are your specs on that PC ? No one in here can help you , if you dont start on the right foot ! Give us something to bite on first ! Like what processor, how much ram , what errors are you getting ?... so forth .........

    thanx didnt think of that well..1.19ghz..compaq presario 256 ram amd athlon processor..i used to convert them just fine..but out the bluse i cant? ne thing else u guys wanna kknow?

    Sorry but I cant help you !!

    you didnt say what type of burner -- what software version you have for burning .. !What media you are using -- you dont have a log file when you burn and it stops ?

    Maybe someone can on the information you provided.

    well i m using a spny dvdr burner..but the problem is in the converting progress,... i ve tred dvd santa..avi2dvd..shit u name it..i ve tried while is converting...before burning...it like stops n the computer goes off..the light on the computer is a steady yello blink

    Here is what all I could think of:

    <> clean your hard drive ie run scan disk & defrag your hard drive daily
    <> free up more Memory RAM or add another 512MB
    <> shutdown any unnecessary running programs
    <> don't multi-tasks
    <> make sure you have enough air flow/fans running (if it's a PC)
