I have a NEC 3520A drive and its worked fine for a few months. Now all of a sudden some discs don't work when I put them in it says "Blank CD" and lets me select an action but there are no actions to select. However other DVDs work just fine. Some brands that work are Maxell and Memorex. Regular DVDs play just fine in there. Brands that don't work are Verbatim and Imation. They all worked great up until now. I've already tried updating my firmware, uninstalling my IDE crap, reinstalling my driver, cleaning my lens. Nothing seems to fix it.

I use Nero, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink. I use it to burn movies, files, music, you name it. I tried reinstalling Windows, reinstalling my drivers, updating the firmware, unplugging it and letting my computer recognize it again, uninstalling my IDE. Yesterday it worked fine. Some DVDs work fine. Maybe I need to clean it? Or maybe its just shot...
