Problem connecting V3 to PC

My PC running windows XP cannot detect the V3 phone and gives the message "V3guc not found in modems.pac" I am using MPT - phone is new any ideas ??

I've got the exact same issue two days ago and I've found on
http://www.motomodders.net/ forum the solution.
In fact what is missing is not the V3guc driver but the file modems.pac is not at the right place.
TO solve the issue copy the modems.pac file (from the CD) and put in inside the directory where MPT is installed (usually in c:/program file/MPT directory).
That was enough to solve the issue.

hello, I do not see that modem.pac file at all. would you mind mailing it to me? thanx, i have been at this forever. It wont let me update from 3.30 to 4.0. it shows downloading and even installing but when i check to see the version it says 3.30 still.i have deluxe.
any help would be appreciated.

where would modem.pac be if your not installing from a Cd? what if your installing from the internet?
