I tried transcoding and buning to disc/hard drive but the dvds won't play well in stand alone player. after 5 min. or so they play reasonably well.I use verbatim DVD+R
A few more details, what burn speed and the source of the movie, back up or download. Your burner model. Prog used to burn.
Hi Gwendolin Lets see, I tried burn speed automatic and 4x.The source of the movie was an avi file i downloaded.I tried other movies all downloads. My burner model (hard ware) is a "Nexxtech" 16x16 DVD Dual. This is how it is listed in the computer. The program I used to burn was Nero 7.00.2425, Vision. I set video option quality setting to high and the encoding mode to high quality(2 pass VBR ). I use Verbatim DVD+R blanks witch are rated up to 16x.I have tried several burns, maybe 15 in all and they all pixalate and skip mostly in the first 5 min. of play. The last one were I tried changing the quality and encoding settings was the worst, it skipped to the middle of the movie. thanks diggaboy
I have found that this occurs with a lot of movies that are downloaded, I tend to choose those that are DVDRip, these are taken from the actual DVD and are usually of good quality. I am NOT saying this is the problem but it's what I experienced up until I checked that downloads were DVDRip. I also use NVE and just drag AVI files into NVE without conversion.
