I'm using 1Click and Copy to Dvd. Neither Dvd shows that it is double layer, but I only get the beginning and end of the dvd, I hate to waste a double layer disc and get the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Excuse me for being lost in the fog, but are you trying to burn a dual layer dvd. If so, and you have then either dl DVD Decrypter and rip your file in ISO read mode and then burn it using ISO write mode. Or dl the free 21 day trial of AnyDVD run it in the background and use CopytoDVD in the Blindwrite mode. Either way you will get good dual layer backups. Here is a guide for Decrypter and you can get the software here too.

What puzzles me is the box shows no dual layer stamp in the box on the back. I don't know how much crap they Sony added but the movie is only 103 minutes long.

Both of these movies are on dual layer disks, just because it is not stamped on the box does not mean anything. I burned both of these and there are plenty of extras and crap on them taking up space. However you should be able to compress with 1Click if that is what you want. Otherwise if you are planning to do dual layer try the suggested methods. I backed up the Cave to a dl and it came out fine. Both of these movies have Sony ARccOS on them I suggest trying DVD FabDecrypter which is free to rip or AnyDVD which is what I used.

I don't know about "The Fog" but "The Cave" is a DL dvd and is loaded with previews and crap. Thank goodness for dvdremake. No previews, adverts, or warning screens on my backups.
