how to switch on DMA for DVD drive in Windows XP?

    I have a DVD drive (Torisan DVD DRD-U824). Under Windows ME it was easy to check DMA, but under XP it is only auto detect mode available - therefore I cannot change it from PIO mode to DMA. Any idea how to switch on DMA?

    Check out the "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" instead of the drive. There are primary and seconry controllers, check out the proper one and you'll find device1&2 (master&slave) and make the changes in there.
