Up to now there seems to be no version for OS X, so I tried to install it on VPC7 with WindowsXP Pro - no way!

The installer stopped with extracting files and than not finding the ones just extracted.

    Any idea?

It is in the faq that ratDVD is only supported on Windows, unfortantly Mac OS X is out. As far as VPC, I highly doubt that the emulation would be able to support that advanced of video.

Unfortunable it seems to be a hardware problem. I often found that compression methodes don't work on emulators. That is Winrar, ratDVD, etc.

To uncompress ratDVD files on a PC often brings not back the DVD. There are a lot of differences, if I play the rat file, or the uncompressed one (on a PC).

It would be enough to free the ratDVD codec, so Videolan, ffmpeg could play it.

Perhaps anyone has an idea, how to integrate the codec into VLC?
