Hi All, I have quite a few downloaded movies where the picture while veiwing on Windows Media seem fairly good.Once these have been placed onto DVD-R and are then viewed on a regular sized Television the picture obviously isn't as good. Is there a way to improve the picture quality when boosted to this size?

What sorts of software are you using to convert them over. What file types are they?

Unfortunately for you , movies you download from the web are a compressed version of an original DVD -Compressing is done by modifying frames - You will never get the same quality of a fresh DVD. And what has been taken out cannot be put back in !
