its all first hand, what ive experienced myself.
its so you have more knowledge, and more choise between balancing your money out for if you want a HDTV, and wether its worth it (in ur case).
but personally ill just say that i think its definately worth it.

you could always just get a vga box for £35 from ebay and an old p.c monitor £10-20 for a hdtv

back up you can get a vga cable but it does not look as good as hdtv, unless your pc monitor is like viewsonic or something.

logick can you tell me where you got your faceplate from to then go and design it on photoshop.
