I have been burning to DVD-5 for quite some time now and recently am trying out DVD-9 burning. I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL and burning with an NEC 3520A with latest firmware. I rip with latest version of fab, and just drop all files into Video TS folder in Nero 7 (latest update as well). The first couple of times the movies came out perfect (wedding crashers, Family guy vol. 1 disc 1). But after these two burns, all of my burns burn successfully and the data verifies correctly, but the menus don't work correctly. The menus come up and have correct audio and motion, but the cursor is either not there, or in an incorrect spot. When the cursor isn't there, I have to press stop and then play for the movie to work. The movies that I've had trouble with so far are the rest of the family guy series and fight club. I'm using the same method as before and tried burning at both 4x and 2.4x. This also happened with Memorex DL media. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm still new to the technical side of ripping, burning, etc. Would VOBlanker help in this situation? Is my burner going out? Thanks in advance for all help.

Just a quick update, I burned both movies with DVDD at 2.4x and both burned and play perfectly (using iso read/write). Now that I think about it, I think I may have burned the first dvd's that worked with Nero 6, but I'm not positive. Either way, I uninstalled Nero 7 and installed Nero 6, I'll see what happens when I use this program.

edit: I will probably just use imgburn if I can't get Nero to work correctly for me, but I like to use DVDfab. Can I put files onto hd with fab, run files through shrink using "no compression" to create an iso image and use imgburn to burn movie onto DVD-9 without loss in quality??
